It’s always so exciting to campaign, be it for a politician, cause, or even just an event. There’s something in the horizon that you want to see happening, and campaigning brings the horizon a little closer, widens the circle of people who are interested and at best, creates new ways of thinking and acting, widens your network, teaches you new things and brings forward new opportunities. Win-win.
This week I’m on my online campaign trail, spreading the word on World Environment Day and the vlogging competition. Of course, my aim is to win the vlogging contest, but to be fair, campaigning is pretty darn cool even if you don’t win. The showdown will be over by April 27th, and I guess Don Cheadle will then be taking his decision on who’s going to vlog a little more for UNEP, covering the #WED2014 festivities.
I’m so grateful for all the support I’ve received from near and far. I’m sending greetings to each and every one of you, be it in Laos, France, Australia, Portugal, Finland, Singapore, Nigeria – or anywhere else. Thank you!
Here are some highlights from my campaign trail the past couple of days.

I also received many thoughtful comments on my UNEP profile page, here’s just a few of them as screenshots:
And I quickly chatted with Charles, who won the blogging contest last year. He described covering World Environment Day festivities in Mongolia last year like this:
@yalotar it was! One of the best experiences of my life. Really hope u get it this year!

Maybe good to finish with these encouraging words. Let’s see who gets to experience and share the #WED2014 festivities with everyone. Just a few more days left on the campaign trail!
♣ In the meantime: I recently found the perfect recipe for breakfast rolls. Such everyday luxury to have fresh bread in the morning.
